You can both agree to change the rent anytime but if the other party does not want to you are protected by the terms of the lease and your states' legislation. For example, the owner can't increase rent (and the tenant can't decrease the rent) during a fixed term lease without consent from the other party.
If you both agree to change the rent amount, frequency or just moving the due date, a Change of Tenancy Terms document must be signed in Cubbi. Cubbi will create this document for everyone to sign before changing the rent for complete clarity.
