How does Cubbi calculate the number of days behind in rent
Every lease requires tenants to pay the frequency of rent in advance (E.g. $700 per week, due every Monday) however when Cubbi calculates the number of days behind in rent, it's broken down to the daily amount.
Let's say the rent is $700 per week, due every Monday.
If the rent was still unpaid on Thursday the tenant would be 3 days behind in rent.
However, if the tenant had paid $100 on Monday (instead of the $700) the tenant would be 2 days behind in rent.
Why does Cubbi do this?
Most states require tenants to be 14 full days behind in rent before a termination notice can be sent. This number of days is generally only used to work out when a termination notice can be sent.
