Proof of income examples - Application

When applying for a rental property, you need to prove you earn the income, not just say it.

Income proof examples:

Payslips

These are the most typical proof of income. Provide a minimum of 2 recent payslips from your employer in the past two months.

Bank Statements 

Ideally, filter out all other transactions, so only show the transactions of the income you're proving. At a minimum make sure it's clear what the manager needs to look for, trying to read an entire bank statement is time-consuming and feels a little creepy too.

Centrelink Statements

Make sure it's recent and shows your schedule of payments.

Employment letter

If you've just been offered a new job or don't have enough payslips yet, a job offer or employment letter or contract is should be enough evidence.

Tax Returns

The downside to showing your tax return is, it's typically old, from last calendar year. But if you have nothing else add it in, it can't hurt. They'll see you're trying.
