Tag and insert keys
Goal
Give every key, fob, and remote a unique number so Cubbi can match them to locks or devices from your video capture.
You need
Key tags, marker, small rings.
Numbering rule
Tag every item with its own number (K001, K002, K003...).
Never reuse numbers, even for duplicates.
Steps
- Gather all keys, fobs, and remotes. Remove old tags.
- Tag each item in order — one number per key/fob/remote.
- If several open the same lock or gate, group them on one ring.
- Insert one numbered key or use the numbered remote during filming.
- Leave unknown tagged keys in the kitchen cutlery drawer ready for video capture
During Video capture
- Show the numbered tag and the lock or device
- Say the number aloud.
- Operate the key, fob, or remote (open/close) to show it's working
- Hold the tag steady so the number is clear during capture.
After capture
- Remove items from locks or gates.
- Put all keys and remotes in the top cutlery drawer.
- Keep grouped rings together in that drawer.
Quick checks before leaving
All items (keys/fobs/remotes) have visible tags.
Numbers are unique and legible.
Nothing left in locks or vehicles or gates.
