Photo ID and Proof of Ownership examples

As part of our user verification process, we may ask you to provide Photo ID and provide Proof of Ownership. Here are some examples of what you could provide:

Photo ID: (only one required)

  • Drivers Licence (front and back)
  • Passport

Physical vs Digital licence?

We recommend using a physical card because Digital licence is known to fail and can slow down the process to verify your identity. However if you want to proceed with a Digital licence try the following:

  • Do the verification from a different mobile and use your mobile to hold up the digital ID.
  • Turn up your brightness settings to it's highest
  • Adjust or tilt your device to avoid reflections

Proof of Ownership: (only one required)

If you own the property:

  • Rates notice
  • Mortgage documents
  • Land Titles Office document
  • Signed Contract For Sale when you purchased the property.

Or any other official document that shows your full name as the owner of the property.

If you don't own the property but have authority:

  • Management Agreement with the owner
  • Power of Attorney
  • Email from the managing agent or landlord giving you authority to advertise or manage the property (eg you are a tenant breaking the lease)

Please note, if you do not own the property we may also require the owner of the property to complete a verification check as well however we will notify you first if that is required.

Please ensure all documents:

  • Are clear and good quality (eg not blurry)
  • Show the entire document (eg no cut-off edges, both sides, all pages etc)

FAQs

What If I don't own the property?

An agreement showing you have authority to advertise the property can replace proof of ownership or you can send through their rates notice but we will still require your Photo ID either way.

Are my documents safe and secure?
