Transition from old to new application (for owners)
As an owner, you might notice two different looking applications in your Cubbi dashboard.
If someone applied for your property on or after Thursday 24 Feb 2022, they would have applied using the new application form.
You can easily distinguish between the new applications because they look a little different in your Cubbi dashboard:
Depending on which application the applicant used when they applied, things work slightly differently on your end too.
Unsuccessful Applications
All the new applications have a status (pending, upcoming, unsuccessful etc) so if you mark an application as unsuccessful, the status of the application will change too. In addition, when you approve an applicant and the lease is fully signed, Cubbi now automatically marks every application, that didn’t get approved, as unsuccessful and consequently, every unsuccessful applicant gets notified (but the people who applied using the old application form will not).
If unfortunately fall into the position of only some applicants being notified when you sign a lease, you can easily check the Messages in your Cubbi dashboard and look for the ones who applied before the 24th Feb. This is an example of someone who applied before the 24th Feb:
If this is you, we suggest messaging each one individually.
References (SendNow References)
Applicants can send their own references even before submitting the application, even if you don’t have professional screening enabled. Freely enabling applicants to increase their credibility and chances of getting approved while helping you to screen tenants faster, a win-win. That's why you might notice some references completed and some not (if you don't have professional screening turned on).
Email hello@cubbi.com.au if you have any issues or questions and we'll be happy to help.
Learn more about the differences vs the old application:
Simple and easy to fill out - the old form used a 3rd party app, whereas our new application form is purpose-built by us here at Cubbi.
Save and come back anytime - applicants could not save their work halfway through filling out the form; now then can.
One application - the old application form was split into two separate forms. The new application is one form fillable by any applicant; however, each applicant still needs to complete their own personal details.
Edit anytime - Previously, an applicant could not make changes to their application after the application was submitted. Now, they can, and you see any changes instantly.
See upcoming applications - You can now see everyone who has started filling out an application for your property, not just after they submit it.
Notify unsuccessful applicants - We’ve updated the deny an application feature. Previously it was very light; Cubbi created a message but nothing else. Now when you mark an application as unsuccessful, it changes the status of the application and sends the notification to the applicants. In addition, after you approve a new tenant and everyone has signed the lease, Cubbi automatically notifies all unsuccessful applicants, so you don’t need to worry about it. Much better!
