First rent payment

When a new tenant is moving in

The first rent payment (Rent in Advance) is payable by the tenant upon signing the lease agreement.

Rent is paid via BPAY, NPP or Direct Debit depending on the agreed payment terms and the selected payment option of the tenant.

Once the payment has been received by Cubbi, the payment will be held in trust as a way of securing the tenancy and transferred to the owner on the lease start date.

Please note each payment method has different payment processing times.

If rent is paid via BPAY or NPP the tenant is provided the payment details to make the payment.

If rent is paid via Direct Debit the payment is automatically initiated from the tenants bank account within 1 business day after the lease has been signed by everyone. All future rent payments are then initiated 'x' days before the rent due date automatically (5 days by default).

When an existing tenant starts paying through Cubbi

If you move an existing tenancy over to Cubbi, the first rent payment is due from the Next Rent Due date chosen by the owner during the setup process.

If amounts are owing as selected by the owner, the payment will also become payable via the Cubbi platform.

Rent is then paid via BPAY, NPP or Direct Debit depending on the agreed payment terms and the selected payment option of the tenant.

If rent is paid via BPAY or NPP the tenant is provided the payment details to make the payment.

If rent is paid via Direct Debit the first payment is automatically initiated 'x' days before the Next Rent Due Date (5 days by default) or immediately if the Next Rent Due Date is in the past from when the tenant accepts the tenant invitation.
