Traditional Direct Debit processing times
Direct Debit payments take 3 business days to clear before the payment is marked as paid and reaches Cubbi.
From April 2024, AutoPay payments are processed via PayTo, enabling real-time payments (30 seconds). Renters who set up AutoPay before April 2024 will continue with the traditional direct debit method (3 business days) until they update their payment method.
Processing times
Traditional Direct Debit payments take 3 business days to clear into Cubbi. This is why Cubbi recommends your Direct Debit is deducted 5 days before (not business days) the rent due date. For clarity, payments are marked as 'paid' when the Direct Debit clears.
Weekends and Public holidays
If a Direct Debit payment is scheduled for a weekend or a public holiday, Cubbi will still initiate the payment however the banks will not start processing the payment until the next business day.
Delays can occur when clearing direct debits if the bank account details are incorrect or incomplete. As a result, the 3 business days begin once the correct details have been processed. This is the same for payments that have dishonoured.
