How to cancel & stop auto-retry of a Direct Debit

Both owners and tenants can cancel & stop auto-retry of a failed Direct Debit payment.

When a Direct Debit payment fails, it will auto-retry after 24 hours or when the tenant clicks to retry (whichever comes first). To disable the Direct Debit from being re-tried, you must cancel the Direct Debit payment from your Cubbi Dashboard. In this article, we show you how.

Please note, once cancelled, you will not be able to retry this payment again. However the tenant is able to pay via BPAY or NPP.

Note:

  • Owners can cancel a failed Direct Debit payment at anytime
  • Tenants can cancel a failed Direct Debit payment at anytime (changed from 'only if rent is paid up to date' to allow renters to cancel the auto-retry instead of relying on the Owner)

How to cancel & stop auto-retry of a Direct Debit

1

Log on to Cubbi

Navigate to the 'Transaction' page on the Cubbi Dashboard and select the 'Awaiting Clearance' tab. Here is where you will see any failed Direct Debit payments.

2

Click 'Cancel & stop auto-retry'

Select the payment and click 'Cancel & stop auto-retry'.

3

Done.

The Direct Debit will be cancelled. You will not be able to retry this payment again. However the tenant is able to pay via BPAY or NPP.

Please now, this does not cancel your Direct Debit schedule, it will simply cancel that particular Direct Debit payment from retrying.
